TOUR DIARY
Melbourne December 2007
Late in 2007 I flew down to Melbourne to play a one-off solo show which my friend/supporter Andrew had organised for me. I remember getting off the plane in extreme heat. It must have been one of the hottest days in Australian history, and certainly one of the hottest I have experienced. I stood in a 7-11 near the bus station in town to stay cool as I waited for my friend/webgal CC to pick me up.
The show was at The Old Bar which I'd never been to before. It is a great little venue; possibly one of the smallest places I have played but I really enjoyed it. I was actually a little nervous as I hadn't played solo too much these last few years but it ended up being a great show. I played some new songs from the forthcoming third album which went down well, as well as the usual tunes. I threw in my first ever single 'Rub It In' for the Melbourne crew which went down a treat.
I stayed the night at CC and Shayne's; we watched a bunch of premier
league games til the early hours.
It was so hot on the Sunday we just sat around and relaxed near the
air conditioned loungeroom until I was lucky enough to get a ride
to the airport.
Thanks to Andrew for organising the show and CC+Shayne for the hospitality.
