The C-Minus Project
Less Than Perfect Day
Sydney Mornng Herald
August 1st 2003
Schinazzi - which is how his name is really spelt, despite the name on the album (C-Minus, get it?) - is a shy innocent who adopts the understated, confessional writings that made the Lemonheads Evan Dando and Tom Morgan such a songwriting force. Schinazzi's first album is highlighted by beautiful instrumentation from guests including Sydney's alt.country supremo Jason Walker. What Schinazzi sometimes lacks is the succinct turn of phrase of the writers he emulates. Yet he makes his melodies sparkle on such songs as Town Where You Were Born and the endearing Gram Parsons tribute, GP.
