in winter..
.. it's like drinking black coffee trying to stay warm and keeping the cold out. the rain falls, the wind blows. some of you even get to see snow.in autumn..
.. it's a backyard in the suburbs, and hundreds leaves covering the green grass.in summer..
.. it's a night-time thing. out on the balcony (porch) with some beers and your friends.in spring..
.. it's the hope for a brighter day.
Live Reviews
Groundswell, The C-Minus Project, Coindrop @ The Punters Club, Melbourne
January 9, 2001
Ah, the Punters Club of a Tuesday evening brought in a most relaxed crowd, by the looks of it a few people were still recovering from their New Years Eve experiences. But many, through word of mouth, were at the Punters to see a well talked about Sydney outfit titled The C-Minus Project, plus some very fine Melbourne talent opening and closing the evening.
Having missed the first band, I was all set for the second band on stage, being The C-Minus Project. This was a band that only impressed me more and more as the show rolled on. Lead vocalist Sam Schinazzi started the set with three acoustic numbers, which highlighted the strong vocal and lyrical talent of this man. Having waved his musical wand over the Punters audience, Sam was joined on stage by fellow musical companions for the night, on guitar and keyboard. The first song with all members in tow was an epic; taking the audience on a dreamy guitar driven ride while the music wash over the relaxed Tuesday night audience.
Completing the set for the evening, The C-Minus Project invited guest vocalist CC Hua on stage, which was a delightful finish to the set. Sam and CC harmonized their way through the track Tiger's Tale, the final track off the band's soon (?) to be released album. The most striking thing to be left with after the set was the song writing talent of lead singer Sam Schinazzi. You know a band has hit the right spot when you wander off home at the end of the gig with their song lyrics still kicking around inside your head. "There's not much more I can say, except I hope you have a really great day.." (Happy Birthday)
