in winter..

.. it's like drinking black coffee trying to stay warm and keeping the cold out. the rain falls, the wind blows. some of you even get to see snow.

in autumn..

.. it's a backyard in the suburbs, and hundreds leaves covering the green grass.

in summer..

.. it's a night-time thing. out on the balcony (porch) with some beers and your friends.

in spring..

.. it's the hope for a brighter day.

The C-Minus Project
Long Drive Home

mono.net

Lo-fi, independent music productions often have the densest souls. It's the purest music you can get, done simply for the love of it. Long drive home is a great example of this. Simple yet meaningful songs, executed with a guitar, a voice and not much else provide a wonderfully refreshing respite from some of the recent slightly over-produced limey recordings.

This record isn't going to make you want to get up and dance around like a fool. They're not really the kind of happy pop songs that makes you want to sing along either. Songs such as Birthday, which sounds as if it were recorded after a couple of pints of melancholy, and, You're Home, I'm home encourage the grey matter to think and reflect. Twenty-nine minutes isn't such a long drive home, but it's certainly enough time to let the C-minus project get inside and start you remembering things.
