The C-Minus Project
Long Drive Home
A prelude to their upcoming album, 'the long drive home' is essentially a collection of lo-fi acoustic 4-track recordings that Sam Shinazzi racked up on one day's worth of recordings.
Staking his claim as a quality songwriter in the introspective pop vein, Schinazzi presents a series of lightly strummed acoustic ditties with all the fragility of artists such as Lou Barlow or Petdo the Lio. Sentimentality plays a large part of the song writing, and it's Schinazzi's greatest drawcard at that. It's a mini-album with beams of sunshine amidst all the brooding sentimentality. With an aptly named title, most of the tracks are quite low key from the sublime 'birthday' to the melancholic numbers of 'hey, broken girl' and bittersweet 'Just thought I'd Write'. A lovely mini album, 'Long Drive Home' is a lovely prelude to The C-Minus Project's album, due out sometime in the coming months.
