in winter..

.. it's like drinking black coffee trying to stay warm and keeping the cold out. the rain falls, the wind blows. some of you even get to see snow.

in autumn..

.. it's a backyard in the suburbs, and hundreds leaves covering the green grass.

in summer..

.. it's a night-time thing. out on the balcony (porch) with some beers and your friends.

in spring..

.. it's the hope for a brighter day.

UPDATE FROM SAM - JUNE 2010

Hey people, We have been working really hard on our fourth album and we have made a lot of progress since I last left an update. We pretty much just have some overdubs to do, then it has to be mixed, mastered and so forth but the actual recording is almost done!

There are 11 songs, and we are really happy with how they are sounding. I hope you will like it to, when you get to hear it. When that will be, I have no idea. If anyone has some album title suggestions, please drop me a line!

Thanks,
Sam

UPDATE FROM SAM - MAY 2010

Morning all, I just thought I would give you an update on what has been going in SAM-land, particularly with the progress we are making on Album#4.

We have finished all the drums, bass, keys and my rhythm guitar parts. The remaining tasks include T-Bone's lead guitar, my vocals and some overdubs of piano, backing vocals etc. In other words, we are well and truly making progress on the 11 new songs.

Having said that, I'm not sure how long the above mentioned tasks will take, given real life sometimes will be getting in the way of things. I also have no idea about a release date etc. I am super happy with how it is all sounding; the moods are quite varied as are the songs, but I think if anything they are pretty catchy songs.

From the heavier rockin' tunes to the acoustic ones, I am happy with them all thus far. Wes is back from touring the States with The Church (the legendary Oz act) and he has some amazing stories involving Al Stewart, Big Star and Gram Parsons to name but a few. He is working hard, as we all are, to make this album as strong as it can be.

Here are some song titles (in absolutely no order whatsoever):
- Twin Cities
- (Untitled
- One Day I Won't Forget)
- The Longest Weekend Of My Life
- (Untitled - Feel So Much Better)
- The Movie Of Your Life
- (Untitled - Good Things)
- Jennifer Don't Cry - Credits Roll
- (Untitled - Everything To Me)
- (Untitled - Beside You)
- (Untitled - Grand Plans)

That's about all for now. I will say I saw Wilco play the Factory Theatre two weeks ago and they were life-changing. 10/10. Top 10, if not Top 5 shows of all-time. Gold.

Take care,
Sam May 2010
